How we write

What goes into a Motel4 Blog post, who is responsible for it, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.

Topics come from real search data

We pick topics from what hotel and motel owners actually search for, using Google Keyword Planner and Google Search Console, and from gaps in what hospitality sites already cover. Each post targets one question, and we do not publish two posts on the same question.

An AI writing agent drafts each post from linked sources

Posts are drafted by an AI writing agent. It works from a brief that lists the sources it may use, our own data files, and the claims it may and may not make. Every post lists its sources at the bottom, with links and the date we checked them, and the numbers in the text point to those sources.

Every number is checked by script

Before a post can be published, a script checks it against the source files: each figure must trace to a listed source or to a data file saved next to the post, and worked examples are recalculated from their inputs. The same script checks structure, links, images and plain-language rules.

A second AI model reviews each post

A separate AI model, which did not write the post, reads it with its sources and evidence files, checks a sample of numbers against their sources, and scores it. A post that fails the script checks or the review is held and not published. We publish at most two posts a day, and fewer when fewer pass.

Images are real photos, or drawn from the numbers

Photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under their licences, with the title, author and licence credited under each image. Charts and diagrams are drawn by our own code from the numbers in the post. We do not use AI-generated images.

We never invent people, quotes, customers or statistics

We do not make up people, quotes, customers, test results or statistics. A quote appears only when it comes from a public source we link to. Motel4 sells an AI phone receptionist, which is one of the options some posts compare; we say so where it matters.

Older posts were made under an earlier process

Posts dated before October 20, 2026 were made under an earlier process and did not go through these checks. Each of them says so at the end.

Who is responsible, and how to report an error

The Motel4 Team is responsible for every post on this blog. If you find an error, tell us through the contact page on motel4.ai and include the post's address. We correct mistakes in the post itself and note the change at the top.
